The beginner's class is designed to suit those with no previous experience in fly tying. The session starts with an introduction to tools and materials and then moves on to the techniques of fly tying. Each week a new fly is demonstrated and the members then tie this fly with continued advice and help from the instructor(s). The sequence of patterns  is chosen to introduce new techniques of fly tying each week. Hence the members gradually extend the range of their skills, progressing from simple to more complex flies. Tools and materials are provided for this class, though members are encouraged to purchase their own equipment
